Travelling to Roscrea

Public Transport

Roscrea is centrally situated on the N7, just over midway between Dublin and Limerick and is still and important market town, servicing the villages of Shinrone, Cloughjordan, Moneygall, Borris-in-Ossory, Clonakenny, Knock, Dunkerrin among others.

The town was by-passed several years ago, and this has added to its potential as a focal point, within easy distance of other major towns and serviced by a convergence of eight major and minor routes.

Roscrea Rail Service is serviced by a feeder line from Ballybrophy on the main Dublin to Cork route, which operates one service in the morning and evening. However, the line has declined in use since it stopped being used for cargo, in particular cattle.

There are bus services to and from Limerick and Dublin daily provided by two bus companies:

Bus Eireann and a private bus company, JJ Kavanagh and sons.

Roscrea has quite an extensive hackney service existing in the town. So once you reach the town there is no problem in finding your way around!
